10 Things About Me

Today’s Topic. Let’s see….. I will do a “Ten Things About Me” post! I can’t expect everyone who is stopping by to read what I have to say to know me right off the bat! So here we go!

1. I used to be a dancer. I was never a serious dancer and I didn’t start out when I was a kid and grow into it. I did it while I was in high school and I loved it. I am just not coordinated enough and my balance is off because of my awkward feet!
2. I remember a lot of my dreams! And they often reflect how I am feeling about certain situations or if I am missing someone. I had dreams that went along with my engagement when Derek and I were engaged. I would look at my hands (in my dream) and I would be wearing my ring. I had a dream where we had a beach wedding. I dream about friends that I miss that I am not on good terms with.
3. I struggle with body dysmorphia and anxiety/depression (like many others). I actually love my body more than ever now. I am still working on improving and making sure my health is good. My recent labs are all amazing so I am in a good place. I am happier and am able to properly manage my moods with medications (and that’s ok. It’s ok to seek help and use what helps).
4. I was born and raised in Colorado…. But I hate the cold. I currently live in Arizona and nearly year-round I do not even need a jacket.  Colorado snows are beautiful...but... I am very temperature sensitive and extreme cold is just not for me, no matter how many layers I am wearing.
5. I am the least-picky, picky-eater you have ever met. I am more than willing to try new things and new types of food. More than likely I will enjoy it and eat it again. But I am very selective about what I am in the mood for and if I am looking to stay with healthier options or if I want something like pizza.
6. I got married when I was 20 years old. I am still with that wonderful man I married nearly 7 years ago. I was such a baby then, and so was he. But as opportunities pop up in my life, I am excited to be able to do it all with my best friend by my side. (I also get to save money on hotel rooms and rent because we share the space!! HAHA)
7.  I have so many extra interests that I don’t have time for all of them! I have been working on costuming and cosplay along with creating more digital art. Working full time and taking care of my fitness and health. I have so many interests! I try to read as I have time and journal/blog. Plus, each weekend I try to have adventures with my babes. Whether it be photoshoots or going to the aquarium! Busy, Busy!!
8. I am a nurse! An LPN to be exact. I currently work in a Women’s Internal Medicine Clinic. Not gynecology but we specialize in female hormones after menopause and we have various providers who also do sexual health consults as well. My medical expertise/ knowledge spans far and wide. Lots of geriatrics but I have experience in women’s medicine including OB/GYN procedures, birth control and other parts of women’s health. I know pediatrics a fair amount as well; I’ve given vaccinations to literally all ages. I’d been a caregiver in assisted livings and worked with memory/cognitive impairments. I've always had a big interest in dialysis!
9. I love flair and sparkles. I love dressing very wild and out-there with bright colors and unique looks. I love playing with makeup and wearing crazy shades of lipstick and eyeshadow. I am a girly-girl and this was something that has only been an interest the past 2 years… not really sure how I went on before-hand! Haha
10. I really enjoy eating healthy. Bland veggies and meats are my jam.... but I also jump to the opposite end of the spectrum and will eat candy to no end. I LLLOOOVVVEEEEE chocolate. Chocolate Cake. Reese's. Hershey's. Chocolate Donuts. Chocolate chips! GAH!! As a kid I often would literally have chocolate cake for breakfast. And that's just how it was. My mom never made breakfast so either it was a snack cake, cereal, or nothing. My grandma used to love to make us eggs but in the end would have to go to the store and get snack cakes because we wanted them so much! How stupid is that!!??
